Anthropic workforce turns less junior as meetings rise 20%

An Anthropic workforce update shows junior technical staff down since early 2025, meeting time up about 20%, and more day-to-day work tied to Claude.

Junior-level staff in technical departments fell from 21% to 14% since early 2025; junior technical hires fell from 27% to 9%.

Technical teams’ share of the overall workforce dropped from 61% to 56%.

Meeting time per employee rose 20% year on year, and 16% for technical contributors.

In an April 2026 survey, 27% of employees said Claude made them more productive; 20% said their job shifted toward managing Claudes.

Anthropic says AI use brought more code, sales closures and contract processing per person, without signs that code quality is falling.
