Anthropic says the Anthropic workforce has become less junior over the past year and is spending more time in meetings, according to a company report published on Friday. The AI firm says both who it hires and what people do day to day have shifted as it builds workflows around its Claude assistant.

Anthropic argues that its own patterns may hint at how artificial intelligence could change work organisation, hiring and labour demand more widely, because it has shaped its processes around AI. The report is an account of how one AI company currently operates, not a survey of every employer.

Fewer junior roles in technical teams

The company says it is making fewer junior hires. The share of junior-level employees in technical departments fell from 21% to 14% since early 2025. The share of junior technical hires fell more sharply, from 27% to 9%.

Technical teams also make up a smaller slice of the whole staff, dropping from 61% to 56%. Anthropic links that shift to the natural growth of business functions as the firm scales, and to coding tools that let non-technical staff build software themselves.

Meetings rise as trust stays human

Calendar data in the report show meeting time per employee up 20% compared with a year earlier, and up 16% for technical contributors. The company ties the rise to the need for human trust and accountability. Staff have repeatedly described face-to-face coordination as indispensable.

The report also says human attention and judgement are becoming a bottleneck. Claude can produce a large volume of text that still needs to be read and organised.

Claude, productivity and day-to-day work

One employee described constant pressure to move quickly and use Claude for everything. In an April 2026 survey, 27% of employees said they had become more productive because of Claude, and 20% said their job had moved from doing the work themselves to managing Claudes. One engineer compared that role to babysitting, saying each Claude, like each child, brings concerns that demand attention.

Anthropic says AI adoption has raised output measures such as more code per person, more sales closed per representative and more contracts processed. It notes that more code does not automatically mean better code or stronger business results, but it says it has not found signs that code quality is declining.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Anthropic ki report ke mutabiq technical teams mein junior employees 21% se 14% ho gaye hain, aur junior technical hiring 27% se 9% tak giri hai. Meeting time har employee ke liye pehle saal se lagbhag 20% zyada hai. April 2026 survey mein 27% ne kaha Claude se un ki productivity barhi, jabke 20% ne kaha un ka kaam ab Claude ko manage karna ban gaya hai. Company kehti hai human attention aur judgement ab kaam ki raftaar ke liye bottleneck ban rahe hain.
