The first wave covers earlier tools such as notification summaries, real-time translation, rewriting and proofreading, visual intelligence and object removal in photos.
The new Siri AI is not part of this China launch.
Apple says it has worked with Alibaba to add Qwen chatbot support in some experiences.
China approved Apple Intelligence in July; Apple earlier trained a China-specific large language model.
