AT Sukkur moot opposes new provinces and 28th Amendment
Party leaders at a Sukkur conference also criticised a possible 28th Amendment, canal and dam schemes, and a Wapda drainage plan they say endangers Sindh’s water.
Awami Tehreek leaders in Sukkur opposed new provinces, extra administrative units and a possible 28th Constitutional Amendment.
They linked the campaign to Sindh’s minerals, land, canals, dams including Jalalpur, and coastal resources.
Speakers compared today’s setup unfavourably with past martial-law periods and the One Unit era.
They condemned a Wapda Ghotki Drainage Project plan to put toxic water into the Nara Canal and sought officials’ punishment.
A new AT District Sukkur body was elected, with Zulfiqar Mirani as president and Sarwan Jatoi as general secretary.
