Shaheen Afridi backs Babar Azam ahead of ODI tri-series
At Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi called Babar the side’s backbone and said inconsistent scores are part of the game ahead of the home ODI tri-series.
Shaheen Shah Afridi said there is no pressure on Babar Azam and called him the team’s main player and backbone.
Pakistan will host England and Sri Lanka in a home ODI tri-series.
Babar scored 58 runs in four first-class innings for OGDCL after returning to the format after about nine years.
In the recent home ODIs against Australia, Babar made 125 runs in three innings as Pakistan won 2-1.
Shaheen said Babar’s red-ball and domestic struggles are part of cricket and praised his recent ODI work.
