Rs277m misdeclaration found in Risalpur EPZ shipment
The customs fraud case centres on Blooming Buds Industries of Risalpur EPZ, with Pakistan Customs putting attempted duty and tax evasion at about Rs108 million.
Pakistan Customs’ Directorate General of Transit Trade, Karachi, detected a misdeclared consignment at Karachi Port bound for EPZ Risalpur.
The goods are valued at about Rs277 million, with roughly Rs108 million in duties and taxes allegedly sought to be avoided.
Blooming Buds Industries had declared artificial flowers, machine parts and spray; examiners found load cells, perfumes and cosmetics.
A case is being registered and contravention proceedings are under way, Customs said.
