Barseen Bridge opens on Dasu relocated KKH; Diamer Basha reviewed
Water minister and WAPDA chief inaugurated the 225m Barseen Bridge on RKKH-1 (due open by Feb 2027) and reviewed Diamer Basha (8.1 MAF, 4,500 MW) and Dasu (4,320 MW).
Water Minister Moeen Wattoo and WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Saeed visited Diamer Basha Dam and Dasu Hydropower Project to review construction.
Officials were briefed on works at both sites; the minister urged timely completion to quality standards for water, food and energy security.
At Dasu, the minister inaugurated the 225-metre Barseen Bridge on Relocated Karakoram Highway (RKKH-1).
The 20.4 km RKKH-1, built under Dasu HPP to CPEC standards, is expected to open for traffic by February 2027.
On completion, Diamer Basha is planned for 8.1 MAF storage and 4,500 MW; Dasu for 4,320 MW in two 2,160 MW stages.
