Islamabad local government elections set for December 20
The Election Commission will meet to settle modalities under the 2015 ICT local government law, with voting in 50 constituencies before mayor and deputy mayor polls.
Polling for Islamabad’s local government is set for December 20.
The ECP will meet to discuss arrangements and finalise how the polls will be run.
Voting will follow the Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government Act, 2015, in 50 constituencies, then mayor and deputy mayor elections.
Local polls in the federal capital have been pending for nearly five years since the last term ended in February 2021.
Final delimitation was published on October 14 after an amending ordinance lapsed on September 6.
