Punjab EPA demolishes 197 brick kilns in month-long push
From 28 September to 27 October, EPA Punjab also sealed 163 units, filed 162 FIRs and imposed Rs40.7 million in brick-kiln fines in its anti-smog Punjab campaign.
EPA Punjab demolished 197 non-compliant brick kilns between 28 September and 27 October 2026.
Squads sealed 163 kiln units, registered 162 FIRs and issued 314 smog notices after 11,580 kiln inspections.
Brick-kiln fines totalled Rs40.7 million; industrial and plastic-burning drives added further penalties.
Sixty-seven Quick Response Units are tackling stubble burning, while anti-smog guns are deployed in Lahore.
DG Environment Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh said heavy fines, FIRs and sealing of violators will continue.
