Four oil tankers strike marine mines near Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Revolutionary Guards say the vessels hit mines on a banned lane south of the strait and remain ablaze; tanker identities and any casualties are still unknown.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims four oil tankers hit marine mines near the Strait of Hormuz and caught fire.
The Guards say the tankers were trying to use a sea lane south of Hormuz that Iran had declared prohibited.
They say all four tankers are still on fire and that Iranian forces also seized two other vessels.
Tanker names, crew condition and any deaths or injuries have not been detailed; the claims are not independently confirmed.
