Quadcopter IED blocked at Hassankhel police station rooftop

A rooftop anti-drone net stopped a quadcopter from landing an improvised explosive on Hassankhel police station, about 86 kilometres south of Peshawar, police said.

An anti-drone net over the rooftop stopped a quadcopter-dropped IED from reaching Hassankhel police station.

SP Saddar division Fida Hussain said the device was a locally made IED in an energy drink bottle packed with explosives, nuts and bolts.

He said similar nets protect police stations and posts in his jurisdiction, including Badhber, Mattani and Hassankhel.

The station lies about 86 km south of Peshawar and borders Kohat and Nowshera districts.

Police said the station had faced repeated attacks for some time.
