HUBCO eyes Dec 2026 for first local BYD Sealion 6 production
HUBCO management said CKD assembly of the Sealion 6 PHEV will start in December 2026 near Karachi, a step that will reshape the BYD Sealion 6 Pakistan price and supply picture after sales topped 10,000.
HUBCO aims to start local CKD production of BYD vehicles in December 2026, with the Sealion 6 PHEV as the first assembled model.
The plant near Karachi, run with Mega Motor Company, is planned for 25,000 units a year on a double shift, scalable to 50,000.
Cumulative BYD sales in Pakistan have passed 10,000 units; 1QFY27 e-mobility profit was about Rs1.5 billion, with HUBCO’s share Rs780 million.
Management is also weighing B- and C-segment models, with the Sealion 6, B8 and B5 expected around end-2026.
BYD entered Pakistan’s passenger market in March 2024 through the Mega Conglomerate and Mega Motor Company structure.
