Iran submits US-Israeli maritime attack evidence to IMO
Tehran says damage to ports, civilian vessels and traffic systems threatens maritime safety in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Sea of Oman.
Iran has given the International Maritime Organisation documents and photographs it says show US and Israeli attacks on its ports, civilian vessels and maritime infrastructure.
Tehran warns the damage raises serious safety risks across the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.
It says harm to traffic-control systems could raise the chance of vessel collisions and follow-on accidents.
It also says destroyed rescue facilities could weaken emergency response and put foreign seafarers at risk.
