JUI-F proposes new charter of democracy; PTI signals yes

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman proposed a new Charter of Democracy after an opposition alliance meeting in parliament in Islamabad.

PTI leader Asad Qaiser said his party has agreed to the proposal; PTI MNAs discussed it in a separate meeting.

A final decision awaits further consultations; Barrister Ali Zafar said the terms will be settled mutually.

Opposition parties plan to formally announce the charter at an all-parties gathering in the second week of November.

Asad Qaiser said an All Parties Conference is being considered for 9 or 10 November.
