KPT clears two bulk carriers with 101,000-tonne load
Federal minister says Karachi Port wheat and DAP fertiliser arrived together on two foreign bulk carriers, with discharge under way at the multipurpose gateway terminal.
KPT worked two foreign bulk carriers at once holding a combined 101,000 tonnes of DAP fertiliser and wheat.
MV ZHONG CHANG 538 brought 50,000 tonnes of DAP; 48,525 tonnes were already ashore at Berth 10/11.
MV GOKOVA M brought 51,000 tonnes of wheat at Berth 16/17, with more than 7,200 tonnes discharged so far.
Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry linked timely clearance to farm output and food security.
KPT Chairman Rear Admiral Shahid Ahmed said the ships got priority berthing under government instructions.
