KP proposes £180,000 AI irrigation at six research farms
A proposed £180,000 scheme would put solar pumps, drip and sprinkler lines, and AI controls on six KP research farms over 18 months to use far less water.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has proposed a £180,000 AI and solar irrigation pilot at six agricultural research farms.
Official aim is to cut irrigation water use by 30% to 50% with sensors, efficient watering and groundwater recharge.
Work is mapped over 18 months, from site studies to training on the new gear.
The KP Agriculture Department would lead; universities and technology firms would support farmers running the systems.
