KP emergency under Article 232 covers the full province
Azam Nazeer Tarar said a secretariat under the chief executive will aid 12 districts, after he cited 8,600 attacks in 2024-2026 against 2,900 earlier.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said the Article 232 emergency applies to all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, not only 12 districts.
He said a dedicated secretariat under the chief executive will assist those 12 districts.
He cited 8,600 terrorist attacks in 2024-2026, compared with 2,900 in 2020-2024, a rise he put at 195 per cent.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the Centre wants one counterterrorism policy and claimed people in KP had welcomed governor’s rule and the emergency.
The ministers linked Articles 232 and 234 to what they called a complete breakdown of law and order.
