KP schools face legal risk over unapproved 2027 books
From the 2027 session, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa secondary and higher secondary classes will follow Pakistan’s 2026 syllabus, with approved books and board exams aligned.
From academic year 2027, KP will teach classes 9–12 under Pakistan’s National Curriculum 2026.
English, Urdu, Maths, Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology and Physics are included; General Science only in 9 and 10.
The provincial Textbook Board must revise or write books; curriculum directorate approval is required before sale or use.
Private publishers need prior clearance or an NOC for textbooks and extra study aids.
Breaches can draw action under the 2011 provincial curricula and standards law.
