KSE-100 falls 784 points with 300 stocks ending lower

Friday's KSE-100 index drop of 784.19 points cut the benchmark to 166,409.25, as 300 of 501 ready-market companies closed lower.

The KSE-100 closed Friday at 166,409.25 after falling 784.19 points, or 0.47 percent.

Ready-market traded value fell to Rs23.123 billion from Rs31.542 billion a day earlier.

Of 501 companies traded, 300 declined, 173 rose and 28 were unchanged.

Total market capitalisation slipped to Rs18.389 trillion from Rs18.493 trillion.

Early trading showed selling in banks, cement, autos, fertiliser and energy-linked stocks.
