Lahore constable arrested over Rs10,000 bribe for PO release
Nawan Kot Police in Lahore said a police constable allegedly took a Rs10,000 bribe to free a proclaimed offender wanted in a Federal Investigation Agency case.
Nawan Kot Police arrested Constable Nawaz in Lahore on Thursday.
He is accused of taking Rs10,000 to release proclaimed offender Fazal Abbas.
Fazal Abbas was wanted in an FIA Gujrat case (No. 200/25).
The case was registered under FIR No. 3226/26.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran said corruption and abuse of authority would not be tolerated.
