Lahore CTO orders FIRs over unauthorised emergency lights
Under CTO Syed Abdul Raheem Sherazi’s orders, officers in Defence Phase V and other areas will treat fake green plates and emergency lights as criminal cases, not just fines.
Lahore traffic police have begun filing FIRs for unauthorised green number plates, blue lights and police flashers on private vehicles.
Fines for these three offences are being replaced with criminal cases under orders from CTO Syed Abdul Raheem Sherazi.
DSP Muhammad Ashfaq is supervising the drive in Defence Phase V and other areas.
A private car stopped in Defence Phase V led to a case at Defence B for allegedly deceiving law enforcement.
Police have also warned against altered plates, concealed identities, reckless driving, zigzagging and drifting.
