Lesco starts planned shutdowns from Monday across Lahore and adjoining districts for maintenance and upgrades ahead of winter.

About 200 urban and rural subdivisions face five-to-seven-hour daily outages; some areas may see cuts of up to eight hours, mainly 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work covers 132kV and 220kV grid stations and linked 11kV feeders, including conductor and insulator replacement and feeder division.

Affected Lahore localities include Allama Iqbal Town, Johar Town, Model Town, Defence, Cantt and Walton Road, plus industrial belts around Raiwind and Sundar.

Some Lesco field offices have reported delays in getting maintenance parts, raising concern that restoration could slip in places.
