LPG prices in Pakistan may jump 30% after Iran supply shift
Babak Zanjani says Dot One tankers were steered away from Pakistan after Omani loads docked, warning an 11.8kg cylinder could reach Rs13,000 amid tense border trade.
Babak Zanjani said late on 25 October that Dot One LPG tankers had been sent away from Pakistan and that cylinder rates could climb about 30%.
He put an 11.8kg cylinder at Rs13,000 (about $47), up from Rs10,000, saying Pakistanis should feel Iranian traders’ leverage.
On 17 October Pakistan shut Gabd-Rimdan and Taftan; the Pakistan LPG Association puts Iranian supply near 7,000 tonnes a day.
Traders already saw a 12kg bottle near Rs7,000 in Balochistan (from about Rs4,500) and Rs8,200 in Skardu—below his Rs10,000 baseline.
Two Oman-origin loads at Port Qasim totalled about 7,333 tonnes; his diversion claims lack independent confirmation.
