NHMP shuts M3 Motorway Faizpur–Jaranwala stretch over fog

NHMP Central Region closed the Faizpur–Jaranwala stretch for safety; travellers should prefer 10 am–6 pm journeys when roads reopen.

The M3 Motorway is closed between Faizpur and Jaranwala because of dense fog, NHMP Central Region said.

Spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed said the shutdown is to protect lives and property and urged people to skip unnecessary trips.

Motorway Police said travel between 10 am and 6 pm is relatively safer in the foggy season.

Drivers who must travel were told to slow down, keep distance, use fog lights, and stop safely if visibility collapses.

Fog often shuts Punjab motorway stretches in winter; parts of the M2, M3 and M4 were closed for fog in December 2024.
