Maryam Nawaz statement: victims may answer assaults in kind
At a Mandi Bahauddin scholarship event on 27 October 2026, the Punjab chief minister linked recent Multan, Lahore and petrol-pump cases to her call for firm, consistent justice.
Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz endorsed a tit-for-tat approach to assault cases and said she had told victims to answer such attacks the same way.
She spoke on Tuesday, 27 October 2026, at an Honhaar scholarship and laptop event at a Mandi Bahauddin university.
She said party affiliation would not protect offenders and rejected rule by fear.
She cited a Multan fatal road case, a Lahore scooty assault filmed on Safe Cities cameras, and a Jubilee Town petrol-pump beating.
She said the provincial government stood with the oppressed and was not worried about future cases against her.
