Main suspect in Multan orphan murder dies in police encounter

The prime suspect accused of running over a teenager in Multan was shot dead near Bahawalpur after allegedly escaping police custody.

Tauqeer Nazir, accused of running over orphaned teenager Waseem Abbas, was killed during a shot exchange near Bahawalpur's Northern Bypass.

Police claimed Tauqeer escaped physical remand custody before he was intercepted on a motorcycle alongside an accomplice.

CCD officials reported that Tauqeer was fatally struck by gunfire from his fleeing associate, though police have not explained how he escaped custody.

The initial murder case was registered under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code following CCTV footage of the vehicle hit.
