The NCCIA says suspects in taxi-driver scams posed as officials, booked rides near Rawalpindi’s Red Zone, then used medical emergencies to push drivers into online transfers.
The NCCIA says it has exposed a gang in textile-driver-scams tied to online taxi fraud against drivers.
Suspects allegedly posed as government officials and booked rides near Rawalpindi’s Red Zone.
Fake SIM cards, WhatsApp and online accounts were used; medical emergencies were cited to seek money.
After online payments, rides were cancelled and contact with drivers was cut off, the agency said.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
