Nvidia may back billions in Nscale West Virginia build loans
Discussions cover a residual-value guarantee that would help Nscale finance power and construction for a Nvidia AI data center campus planned for Anthropic in West Virginia.
Nvidia is discussing guaranteeing billions in debt so Nscale can fund power and construction at its West Virginia campus for Anthropic.
The backing would be a residual-value guarantee: if Nscale missed construction payments, Nvidia would temporarily control the site and help find a buyer and tenant.
Anthropic's deal for the first building alone is valued at $44.6 billion; a second package of about $45 billion is also under discussion.
Nscale is pursuing a public listing at a valuation of as much as $35 billion while still far short of its chip-deployment targets.
Nvidia has already channelled close to $170 billion of equity and credit support across neoclouds and large buyers, including about $1 billion of convertible funding pledged to Nscale in September.
