Pakistan takes G-24 chair to back developing economies
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said Islamabad will push development-led growth, stronger developing-country representation and reform of the global financial system.
Pakistan has assumed the chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four (G-24), the finance ministry said on Sunday.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb called the role a profound responsibility and urged stronger multilateral cooperation.
He set three priorities: development-led growth, stronger representation for developing economies, and reform of the international financial architecture.
Aurangzeb said macroeconomic stability should underpin investment, jobs and shared prosperity in developing and low-income economies.
