BISP users eyed for LPG at Rs300-350 under new plan

Under Pakistan’s LPG policy, four state firms will import gas while BISP users may pay Rs300-350 a kg; power purchase costs could rise next year.

Federal cabinet approved an LPG policy directing PSO, Pakistan LNG Ltd, Sui Southern Gas-LPG and Parco-LPG to resume imports via G2G and B2B deals.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said black-market sellers were charging Rs700-800/kg against Ogra’s November ceiling near Rs295/kg.

Prime minister directed BISP-eligible buyers get LPG at Rs300-350/kg, funded by a clawback on local auction proceeds versus import parity.

Once SOE supplies start, the minister said market prices could settle around Rs450-500/kg; private importers may still undercut that.

Separately, Nepra heard six 2027 power purchase price scenarios, all above this year’s Rs25.32/unit, with rises of about Rs0.56 to Rs3.94.
