Envoy Ajmal tells UN: curb militants, ease curbs on girls

At a UN human rights dialogue in New York, Counsellor Muhammad Jawad Ajmal pressed Kabul to reverse curbs on Afghan women and girls and dismantle militant networks striking Pakistan.

Counsellor Muhammad Jawad Ajmal told a UN Third Committee dialogue on 29 October 2026 that Kabul must meet global duties, ease curbs on women and girls, and stop militants using Afghan ground.

Ajmal listed TTP, BLA, Majeed Brigade, Al-Qaeda, ISIL-K, ETIM and affiliates as active from Afghan territory and alleged ties to the Taliban plus outside proxy backing.

He said Afghanistan-origin attacks killed more than 4,700 Pakistanis in three years and cited 16 March strikes on militant logistics; Islamabad reserved lawful self-defence.
