Suspect held over assault on senior journalist Kashif Hashmi

Karachi police took a journalist assault suspect into custody after an inquiry into the alleged incident at Nazimabad Police Station.

Police took a suspect, Ali son of Muhammad Samad, into custody in Karachi over an alleged assault and misconduct.

The alleged incident involved senior journalist and former Crime Reporters Association president Kashif Hashmi at Nazimabad Police Station.

SSP District Central Dr Muhammad Imran Khan took notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry before the arrest.

Police said further proceedings would follow the rules and merit of the case.

The sources do not list any charges, and the allegations have not been tested in court.
