PTI links 28th Amendment backing to Imran Khan freedom
At a tense Parliament House meeting, PTI lawmakers backed tying the party’s vote on the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment to Imran Khan’s release and set up a six-member committee on access and treatment.
PTI’s parliamentary party decided to support the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment only if founder Imran Khan is released.
The majority at the meeting backed linking the party’s Amendment support to that condition.
A six-member steering committee will handle access to Imran Khan, his medical treatment, and talks with the government.
Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas will head the committee.
The seven-hour Parliament House session saw walkouts and sharp internal exchanges.
