Authorities restrict movement in two South Waziristan districts

Deputy Commissioners of both districts issued separate notifications on Friday evening, closing markets and limiting travel on key routes, with exemptions for polio teams.

Upper and Lower South Waziristan district administrations imposed Section 144 orders for Saturday, citing security concerns.

Travel on restricted routes is allowed only in emergencies, with prior authorisation from police or security forces.

Polio workers and vaccination teams may move through the affected areas after establishing their identities.

Motorists must stop at least 50 metres away on seeing security forces.
