TEPA Lahore has asked the Punjab government for more than Rs580 million to finish AI-based traffic signals.
The project has received only Rs10 million in the current fiscal year against an approved cost of over Rs590 million.
About 30 percent of the work, including a successful pilot, is already complete.
Modern pelican signals are up at Adda Plot and Jati Umra Chowk; remaining sites will use automated vehicle video detection.
The TEPA chief engineer has sent a funding summary to the Punjab Housing Department.
