Met Office flags Karachi day-night heat swings as health hazard
Pakistan’s Met Office says large gaps between daytime heat and cooler nights across Sindh may strain people and animals, with dry spells set to hold into the weekend.
PMD’s Karachi Early Warning Centre alerted the public on Thursday that sharp day-versus-night temperature gaps can harm people and animals.
Hot, dry conditions are forecast to keep gripping Sindh, with cooler nights inland and warmer readings in the south.
Karachi’s Thursday peak was about 37°C after a 1.1°C drop, with humidity near 20%.
Friday and Saturday in the city are tipped for highs of 35–37°C and lows of 21–23°C.
Mithi led Sindh readings at 37.7°C, with several other towns also in the mid-to-high 30s.
