IQAir logged about 535 in the city on Monday with PM2.5 near 343 micrograms per cubic metre, while Gujranwala briefly outranked Lahore and satellite data showed a sharp October rise in Punjab farm fires.

IQAir put Lahore’s AQI near 535 on Monday, with fine particulate matter (PM2.5) around 343 micrograms per cubic metre.

Gujranwala led live rankings at points in the morning, later climbing as high as 675, ahead of Lahore and other Punjab cities.

HamariHawa analysis of NASA detections counted 13,241 fire spots in Pakistani Punjab from 1 to 29 October, mostly on farmland.

Punjab officials called October 2026 Lahore’s cleanest in five years; PAQI says weather, not policy alone, explains most of the October drop in PM2.5.
