Gross Roshan Digital Account inflows reached $14.16 billion by the end of September 2026, ProPakistani reported, citing the State Bank of Pakistan, the country's central bank. The total rose by $251 million during September and is the highest level recorded since the scheme was launched in 2020. The number of accounts stood at 975,602.
How the inflows were used
Since the scheme began in November 2020, not all of the money is still sitting in the accounts. By September, $2.15 billion had been repatriated and $8.94 billion had been used locally, according to the State Bank figures carried by ProPakistani. The net repatriable liability, the portion that can still be taken out, was $3.07 billion, up about $65 million from August.
Local use increased by $170 million in September, bringing cumulative funds used inside Pakistan to $8.94 billion. In September, $16 million was repatriated, compared with $23 million in August.
The balance held in the accounts fell by $4 million, to $725 million. Other liabilities rose by $2 million, to $80 million.
Taken together, the September position reported by the central bank is a gross inflow of $14.16 billion, set against $2.15 billion repatriated and $8.94 billion used locally. The difference is the $3.07 billion net repatriable liability.
Certificates and equity investments
Cumulative net investments through the accounts were $2.27 billion in September. ProPakistani said those investments comprise conventional and Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates, together with Roshan equity investments. Islamic certificates were the largest share, at $1.38 billion, followed by conventional certificates at $740 million and equity investments at $153 million.
The categories did not all rise. Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificate investments increased by $43 million during September, and conventional certificate investments rose by $24 million. Roshan equity investments declined by $2 million, to $153 million.
What the facility allows
Roshan Digital Accounts allow nonresident Pakistanis to open bank accounts remotely and invest in Pakistan through instruments that include Naya Pakistan Certificates and the stock market, ProPakistani reported. On this reading, Roshan Digital Account inflows are funds that can be invested, used locally, or repatriated. By September, local use stood much higher than cumulative repatriation.
The figures reported by ProPakistani stop at the end of September 2026. They do not state a profit rate for the accounts or the certificates, and they do not name individual banks. Compared with August, September shows a higher gross total, a repatriable liability up by about $65 million, and monthly repatriations down from $23 million to $16 million.
