Kotwali police have registered a case after two teenage girls kidnapped at gunpoint were allegedly forced into a black car outside the main gate of the District Headquarters Hospital in Jhang. The girls are 15 and 16, nieces of Syed Qamar Ali Naqvi, who lives in Basti Ali Muhammadwali. He said they had gone to the hospital, also called DHQ Hospital, when four unidentified men took them away. Officers recorded the complaint on Monday and said the search was still open.
What the family told police
Naqvi’s account is written in the first information report, the complaint on which police open a criminal case. He said the four suspects bundled his nieces into the black car at the main gate and left. The FIR says witnesses watched the men put the girls into the vehicle by force before the car moved off. In that report the girls appear only as the initials I and D.
Police opened the case as an alleged gunpoint kidnapping. They have not named a suspect, and they have not announced an arrest.
Who is investigating
Kotwali police booked the four unidentified men under Section 363 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The code is Pakistan’s principal criminal law, and Section 363 is the part under which a kidnapping is recorded. Sub-Inspector Raees Abbas, head of the Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit at Kotwali police station, said the inquiry was continuing. He said raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects and recover the girls.
The FIR, as it has been described, gives no number plate for the car and no names for the four men. It also does not say which way the car went. The case, for now, stands on Naqvi’s statement and on the witnesses mentioned in the complaint.
What remains unresolved
Abbas said the raids were aimed at recovering the girls, so the search was still open when he spoke. He said the same raids were also meant to catch the suspects. The family in Basti Ali Muhammadwali is waiting for police to announce an arrest or a recovery.
The complaint covers one incident: teenage girls kidnapped outside a hospital, four unknown men, a black car, and a case opened on Monday. What happens next depends on whether the raids Abbas described locate the car and the girls.
