The KP Health Department has formally dismissed 30 doctors working across public health facilities in the province following an inquiry that uncovered fake PMDC registration details and unlawful recruitments.

According to official notifications issued in Peshawar, the disciplinary action was finalized after authorities evaluated formal inquiry reports, verified background records, and examined individual explanations submitted by the accused medical personnel.

Inquiry and Due Process

Provincial healthcare authorities initiated the review after discrepancies emerged concerning the licensing credentials required to practice medicine in Pakistan. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC)—the federal statutory body responsible for regulating medical education and certifying practitioners—maintains the official registry for qualified healthcare workers.

Before issuing termination orders, the KP Health Department issued formal show-cause notices to each of the 30 practitioners. The administration stated that all individuals received opportunities to defend their appointments during personal hearings. However, the submitted documentation failed to clear the allegations of bogus licensing.

Recovery of Public Funds

In addition to terminating their appointments, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government resolved to initiate recovery proceedings against the dismissed personnel. Officials confirmed that legal procedures are underway to recoup all salaries, allowances, and related financial perks paid out during their tenure.

The health administration highlighted that retrieving the disbursed state funds is vital for maintaining institutional transparency and ensuring strict accountability within the provincial public healthcare system.
