Swat-led Malakand Division gets fixed mid and late-month audits

Iqbal Hussain has locked district teams into mid-month sittings and a late-month video audit so clinics and classrooms across the division face the same performance tests.

What Malakand’s commissioner has decided

Iqbal Hussain, the civil head of Malakand Division, has told district teams to treat hospital and school performance as a fixed monthly duty, not a one-off inspection. Administrations must look at how services are running, flag weak spots, and show movement against benchmarks issued from his office.

Both the health and education wings fall under the same rhythm. The aim is regular answerability rather than attention only when a crisis hits the news.

The month’s two main checkpoints

Around mid-month, on the 20th, district health officers and medical superintendents are to call their health management panels. Those rooms are where day-to-day snags—staff gaps, supplies, ward routines—should be raised and handled.

Deputy commissioners will then lead two steering forums: one on hospital results and whether earlier corrective steps were actually carried out, and another on schooling progress and shortfalls still waiting for fixes. Near the close of the month, on the 27th, Hussain will host a division-level video link to judge whether each district is meeting the written benchmarks and to hear what the districts have filed.

Every deputy commissioner must send progress notes against those benchmarks. Figures laid before the steering forums are to be matched with Independent Monitoring Unit (IMU) field tallies—an outside check meant to test whether departmental numbers line up with separately gathered monitoring. Shangla’s Additional Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Planning will act as the division’s collection point, pulling district files together for the commissioner’s secretariat.

Staffing rules under emergency measures

The instructions arrive amid a wider administrative shake-up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after emergency steps and Governor’s Rule. Reports describe knock-on effects for health work and district offices. Deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and other named officers have been told to stay inside their own territories while the emergency lasts. Leave and holiday limits have also been described under the same administrative line.

For patients and parents, the practical test will be whether the fixed calendar produces clearer follow-up on broken equipment, empty posts, and school gaps—not merely another round of sittings.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Malakand ke commissioner ne sehat aur taleem ke liye har mahine check ka silsila shuru kiya hai. Bees tareekh ko zila level par meetings hongi, aur sattaees ko video se poori division ka hisaab hoga. Matlab yeh hai ke hospitals aur schools ki kamiyan baar baar dekhi jayengi. Emergency ke dauran afsaran ko apne elaqon mein maujood rehne ko bhi kaha gaya hai.
