Pakistan and Oman signed six agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Islamabad on Wednesday, aiming to boost bilateral trade, regional connectivity, and diplomatic collaboration across multiple sectors.

The pacts were exchanged during the eighth session of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC). Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif witnessed the signing alongside Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, who arrived in Islamabad to co-chair the bilateral commission.

Key accords on diplomacy, IT, and broadcasting

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Omani counterpart signed the formal protocol capturing the minutes of the eighth JMC session. The two foreign ministers also signed an agreement granting mutual visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic, special, official, and service passports, as well as an MoU covering cooperation on national records and archives.
