Security forces killed eight terrorists in Balochistan during three intelligence-based operations in Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, said on Sunday. The operations took place on 17 October against what ISPR described as terrorists linked to an Indian proxy network the state calls Fitna al Hindustan—its label for designated Balochistan-based groups it ties to India.

Where the clashes unfolded

In the Panjpai area of Quetta district, forces intercepted an attempt to set up a roadblock and disrupt local traffic, ISPR said, and five Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed. In Nushki, a sanitisation operation uncovered a hideout; after an intense exchange of fire, two more were killed and weapons and ammunition were recovered. In Khuzdar, forces struck another hideout and killed one terrorist.

Explosives seized and follow-up action

ISPR said a large quantity of explosives—490 kilogrammes—was recovered in the Khuzdar operation. It added that sanitisation was continuing to find any other terrorists still in the area. The statement framed the raids as part of a wider counterterrorism effort under Vision Azm-i-Istehkam, the campaign approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, and said that work against foreign-sponsored terrorism would continue.

What ISPR emphasised

The press release stressed that the dead were “Indian-sponsored” and belonged to the network the state brands Fitna al Hindustan. It also used strong language about the Nushki clash, saying the two militants there were “sent to hell” after the firefight. No independent casualty figures beyond the ISPR account were provided in the material available for this report.
