Local officials in Attock district have sealed three private schools over concerns about student safety and the quality of the learning environment. Two of the institutions were closed in Jand town, while a third was shut in the rural locality of Jhamat after inspectors found its building in a poor state and teaching staff unavailable during a visit.

The action followed an inspection drive led by Assistant Commissioner Jand Ahmad Ali Raza, who checked private educational institutions across the tehsil for compliance with safety standards and education rules.

What inspectors found in Jand and Jhamat

During the visits, officials recorded deficiencies at several schools and warned their managements to address the problems. School operators were also told to produce building safety and health certificates so that premises meet the prescribed requirements.

In Jhamat, the assistant commissioner separately ordered a private school sealed after noting its deteriorating structure and the absence of teaching staff at the time of inspection. Authorities linked the closure to worries about children’s safety and whether the school could offer a suitable place to learn.

Why the administration acted

The local administration stressed that private schools must keep students safe, maintain acceptable educational standards, and follow applicable regulations. Speaking to reporters, the assistant commissioner said the inspections were meant to ensure institutions provide a safe setting for children and have the facilities and safeguards they need.

He also cautioned school managements to correct the shortcomings already identified and to meet the required safety and health standards. The message was clear: compliance is not optional where children’s wellbeing is at stake.

What school managers are expected to do next

Schools that were warned but not sealed were told to fix gaps and submit the certificates officials asked for. Those already sealed will need to satisfy the administration on building condition, staffing, and other safety points before any reopening can be considered under the same rules the inspections applied.

Parents in Jand and Jhamat may need to check with the closed schools and local offices about temporary arrangements while the seals remain in place. The administration has framed the drive as a continuing expectation that private institutions across the tehsil keep premises fit and staffed for teaching.

Jhamat wale school ki building kharab thi aur inspection par ustaad maujood nahi thay. Agar aap ke bache in ilaqon mein parhte hain, to school aur local office se naya intezam zaroor poochhein.
