The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the province’s public technology body, said on 13 October that candidate registration is open for the CM IT internship. Graduates who meet the rules can apply at cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk. PITB expects to place more than 4,000 shortlisted candidates in more than 350 leading IT companies across Punjab, working on site so they can sharpen technical skills and build a professional portfolio.
Who can apply, and where they will work
The scheme’s formal name is the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme, or CMITIP. PITB says the aim is to strengthen Punjab’s IT sector by matching graduates with companies, giving them experience inside those offices and widening the chances of employment. While they are placed, they are expected to raise their technical skills and build a professional portfolio.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf called the programme support for young people and a link between talented IT graduates and industry. He said it should increase employment opportunities for graduates and help Punjab’s digital economy grow.
To qualify, the degree must be in information technology, computer science or a relevant discipline, and it must have been completed within the last four years. Applicants also need a valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), the national identity card, and a Punjab domicile, proof that they are from Punjab.
How to register online
The notice gives one address for registration, cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk. It names no last date, so candidates should finish CM internship registration while the form is still open and check that page for any deadline added there. For help, the number is 042-99000000, extensions 1925, 1908 and 1207.
A workable sequence follows from those rules. First confirm the subject of the degree and that it was completed in the past four years, with the CNIC and Punjab domicile ready. Next, open the site and submit the registration, and call the extensions above if a part of the form is unclear. Sending the form does not itself award a place: the company posting and the stipend are for candidates who are shortlisted.
Stipend and the checks before it is paid
The CM IT internship runs for four months and offers a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000 to each intern. Payment is made subject to performance and to submission of a degree verified by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the federal commission that attests degrees. The announcement gives no timetable for the shortlist and does not describe how an intern will be matched to a company.
