In the latest Balochistan terrorism news, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti told the provincial assembly on Friday that a recent attack in Dasht Goran has nothing to do with Baloch values and is, in the government’s view, pure terrorism.

He was answering lawmakers who raised security and other issues during the sitting in Quetta. His remarks came after an assembly member described a prolonged assault on a family home in Dasht Goran and urged the chief minister to take notice.

What lawmakers said about the Dasht Goran attack

MPA Mir Jahanzeb Mengal, speaking on a point of order, said “Fitna al-Hindustan” had attacked the house of Mir Qambar Khan Mengal in Dasht Goran at 6am. He said the firing continued until 4pm, leaving Ahmed Nawaz Mengal dead and another person injured.

Mengal said the house was his own and that his mother and sisters were there. He rejected any link with Balochiyat, argued that those who want to fight should name a place, field and time, and asked the chief minister to act on the incident.

Bugti’s response on values and violence

Condemning the attack, Bugti said the government had always held that such acts are not Baloch values. He added that people in the province were increasingly realising that Baloch communities were being pushed into a futile conflict. “What kind of tradition allows the killing of passengers and unarmed people?” he asked.

Those comments form the core of today’s Balochistan terrorism news from the assembly floor: an official line that separates Baloch cultural identity from armed attacks on civilians and homes.

Asma Jattak case and school safety orders

Turning to the Asma Jattak case, Bugti said the government had been in contact with her family and repeated that the matter was sensitive and could not be discussed on the assembly floor. Background raised in the sitting centres on the murder of Ms Jattak’s father in August this year. She was abducted in 2025; after being freed, she alleged that an influential person had threatened her family, and her father was shot dead outside their residence the same day.

Bugti said it was inappropriate for members to name an individual—whose father had also served as provincial chief minister—and allege on the floor that those responsible for the killing were present in the house. “I have reports from the security agencies, and the information provided by the member concerned is incorrect,” he said.

Separately, former chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch pointed to a recent school roof collapse in Peshawar in which several children died. He urged Bugti to have the Education Department, the Communications and Works (C&W) Department and local councillors inspect government and private school buildings across Balochistan and close any unsafe structures until they are repaired.

Bugti said he had already directed authorities to inspect the buildings of all schools and colleges in the province. Speaker Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai noted that madressahs also house children and that their buildings likewise need strict attention.

Timeline: what has happened so far

  • 2025: Asma Jattak is abducted; she is later freed and levels allegations against an influential individual, according to the case background discussed in the assembly.
  • August this year: Ms Jattak’s father is murdered, the case background presented in the sitting states; her father was shot dead outside their residence the same day she levelled the allegations after her release.
  • October 17, 2026 (Friday): MPA Mir Jahanzeb Mengal raises the Dasht Goran house attack in the Balochistan Assembly; CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemns it as terrorism unrelated to Baloch values and confirms orders to inspect school and college buildings province-wide.

Aasan alfaaz mein

Balochistan ke wazir-e-ala Sarfraz Bugti ne kaha hai ke Dasht Goran ke hamle ka Baloch riwayaton se koi talluq nahi, yeh dehshatgardi hai. Assembly mein bataya gaya ke us ghar par subah se sham tak firing hui, ek shakhs jaan se gaya aur ek zakhmi hua. Bugti ne school aur college ki imaraton ki jaanch ka hukum diya hai taake bacchon ke liye buildingain mehfooz hon. Logon ke liye matlab yeh hai ke hukumat is tashaddud ko Balochiyat se alag qarar de rahi hai aur school safety par bhi tawajjo de rahi hai.
