Khairpur police have arrested a man accused of selling his 12-year-old daughter for Rs300,000 and arranging her marriage, ARY News reported on Monday, quoting police.

Police said the case is in the village of Chhoti Mari. On the orders of the senior superintendent of police, officers arrested the girl’s father, Abdul Karim.

A case has been registered at Tando Masti police station over the alleged sale of his underage daughter and arranging her marriage for money. Police said the girl would be produced before a court on Monday.
