Federal ministers have issued strong criticisms regarding the deteriorating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa security situation, blaming the provincial administration for failing to maintain law and order. According to statements reported by Samaa TV, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the severity of the crisis while targeting the local government's response.
Naqvi stated that 12 districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have become extremely dangerous. He added that despite the clear risks to public safety, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led provincial government has not taken necessary steps to curb rising militancy.
Federal Ministers Question Provincial Response
Echoing similar concerns, Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar described the security conditions in the province as terrifying. Speaking in a media interaction reported by Samaa TV, Tarar questioned whether there was an active nexus between the ruling party in the province and militant elements operating in the region.
The sharp exchange comes amidst broader national concerns regarding security challenges in the northwest region. Federal leaders argue that local authorities must take direct responsibility for law enforcement and counter-terrorism measures within their administrative jurisdiction.
Heightened Political Tension
The comments reflect growing friction between the federal government and the ruling administration in Peshawar. While federal officials demand immediate provincial action, the political dispute highlights differing approaches to handling security in the region, with further official responses from the provincial administration expected as the debate continues.
