Public gatherings and the distribution of sweets were witnessed across major cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan, following reports of the federal government's decision regarding emergency measures and KP governor rule.
According to a report by Express News, citizens in Peshawar took to public squares to distribute sweets, describing the implementation of emergency provisions as a necessary step to restore law and order. Some participants marked the occasion as a "day of deliverance" from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial administration.
Street Gatherings Across Southern Districts
Similar public reactions were reported in the southern districts of Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan. Crowds gathered in central bazaars to distribute traditional confectionery, while attendees in Dera Ismail Khan danced to drumbeats in celebration of the federal authorities' announcement.
Local residents interviewed during the events expressed relief over the departure of the PTI government. They argued that past governance pledges had remained unfulfilled and voiced optimism that an altered administrative setup would focus on public grievances, improve local infrastructure, and revive regional stability.
Reactions Outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The developments surrounding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa political situation also prompted public gatherings beyond the province's borders. According to media reports, sweet distributions and demonstrations of support were observed in parts of northern Punjab, including Attock, Taxila, Sohawa, and Gujar Khan, where participants backed the federal measure as a path toward stability.
