A judicial commission examining the Mir Raza murder case is expected to hand its final findings to the Sindh government by 15 October, the commission's registrar has said. The registrar said the team was still working on the document, including over the weekend and late into the night. Separately, commission head Justice Umar Sial is scheduled to sit at the Hyderabad circuit bench, a sitting of the court held outside its main seat, until 7 November.

Commission questions and DIG's replies

The commission put 19 questions to DIG Amir Farooqi, who heads the investigation team. A DIG is a senior police officer. In his answers, Farooqi said the earlier investigation had not missed anything that could have affected the probe. He did accept irregularities in the early stages, particularly in preserving the body and securing the crime scene.

Farooqi said investigators had gathered evidence in line with the law. He added that collecting the holster, the spent casing, a lighter and a cigarette pack on the first day would have been better. He described the site as uneven ground with bushes, grass and garbage, and said a fire had been set roughly 15 feet away from the spot where the body lay.

The commission also asked whether investigators had looked into possible motives such as extortion, forced collection of money, blackmail or threats. Farooqi said the inquiry was moving ahead while keeping these possibilities open. He also said the conduct of police personnel and other people connected to the matter was under examination, and that strict action would follow against anyone found to have broken the law.

Digital evidence and open questions

Farooqi said details of Mir Raza's crypto trades and accounts had come from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), a federal body that looks into cybercrime. More information on crypto dealings and financial transfers is still pending from the NCCIA and the State Bank of Pakistan, the central bank. He said these records would be added to the case file and reviewed before any findings went to court.

He also said his team had tried to keep digital material confidential, though some details reached the media before the investigation began.

Coverage differs on timing. Some headlines suggested the report would reach the government today or tomorrow, while the registrar's estimate was that it is likely by 15 October. No official has confirmed that the report has been submitted, and the available sources do not say when the NCCIA or the State Bank will respond.
